Tape & "Do Not Pick" Signs
Flagging Tape and "Do Not Pick" Signs

Tree adopter responsibility
During the month of August, tree adopters (both Pruning and Orchard Supporters) will need to tape their apple tree with flagging tape and hang "Do Not Pick" signs. This is an important tree care activity! Taping your tree and hanging "do not pick" signs will deter people who visit the orchard from picking apples from your tree, especially during Orchard Events like the Annual Cider Squeeze and the Community Harvest Day. Plus, if your apples will be harvested later in the season, it is important to communicate that your apples should not be picked by community members.
What is flagging tape?
Flagging tape is a highly visible, non-adhesive, plastic material used for temporary marking, and it can be purchased at most home improvement or hardware stores. Flagging tape can be reused multiple times on your tree - so save it for the following year!

After you have picked apples from your tree
After you finished picking the apples that you would like from your tree, please remove the flagging tape and and "Do Not Pick" signs from your tree. This will allow other community members to pick the remaining apples and share in the harvest!
